2.5 Stars. Soter learning this book was originally published in the 80s things made so much more sense. Like, when Susan is thinking about contraception being her responsibility, but then thinking about how they often had spontaneous sex? I was like, umrth control pills don't care about spontaneity. But now knowing this book is actually taking place in the 80s? Oh, so she would have used a diaphragm. Which she would have to insert before sex. Yeah. And the whole concept of divorce seems to be a [...]

This was a good read, liked Griff-Susan-their connection-love-passion,their relationship had Love-Understanding but lack of trust from Susan's side created problems, she kept most of her feelings thoughts to herself, hid many things from Griff which created this misunderstanding, enjoyed the interactions between each children and Susan,Tiger was the adorable one,Barbara irritated me but you however she behaved it was out of loyalty towards her mother.Liked the way story developed, the tension-drama's [...]

This is my second book by Jennifer Greene in the last couple of months, and I’ve been pretty pleasantly surprised at the heartwarming stories I’ve read from her. Neither the hero nor the heroine are looking for love and marriage, but when fate puts temptation and their dreams in front of them, despite eventual doubts and vulnerabilities, their lives drastically change, but is it for the better?Susan owns her own bookstore, one of her dreams come to life, and doesn’t have time to try to fin [...]

Kathy’s Review:The ink is barely dry on the marriage license when Susan and Griff Anderson unexpectedly gain full custody of Griff’s children Tom, Barbara and Tiger. The ensuing chaos has Susan questioning her role in Griff’s life but a strong undercurrent of love will hold this family together when they discover Trouble in Paradise.Susan finds herself in a delicate balancing act as she tries to be a loving stepmom to three kids she barely knows while running a household along with her str [...]

Trouble in Paradise was not what I expected - it was a little more emotionally complex then I anticpated. I had anticipated a wacky romantic comedy with crazy antics - but no, instead I found a sometimes sweet, sometimes romantic, and sometimes emotional romance. Nice and tidy happy endings always come with a price tag. The price? The hard work that often comes with anything that’s worth having. So when a blind date leads to passion, romance, marriage and an instant family you know there will [...]

When I reviewed an earlier rerelease of a Jennifer Greene writing as Jeanne Grant book, I ended wondering when Trouble in Paradise would be released. Well, Carina Press reissued it on December 13, and I’m so pleased they did. I’ve had mixed results rereading category fiction that I loved when the world and I were younger. I’ve changed a great deal, and so has my world, and many of those early reads just don’t hold up very well under the changes. I’m happy to say Trouble in Paradise hel [...]

Trouble in Paradise reads like a classic romance novel from the late 70's and that makes much more sense when you know that it was first published in 1984 and is being rereleased by Carina Press. The plot has a more contemporary line than might be expected. After a whirlwind romance Griff and Susan marry but Griff, who is 11 years Susan's senior, comes with a bitter neglectful ex wife and three children. The passionate romance is soon stymied by parenthood and teenage dramas. I think the storyli [...]

I love when a book focuses on what happens after the "and they all lived happily ever after" line. Refreshingly, Trouble in Paradise glossed over the initial romance in a few flash backs and instead focused on the very real trials of a not wicked step mother trying to carve out a place in her new family. It was nice to see the two main characters sort of refalling in love after the very short honeymoon ended and they had to scrape a family together. While I did enjoy this book, I would not say s [...]
