Just not great but a good story. She was the typical heroine who was falsely accused and he just wanted her in his bed but on his terms and she was stupid enough to cave and give him everything. I guess I like more spine in my heroine. Just ok

Any book that contains a scene where it's okay for anyone to slap anyone is not okay. I don't care how old it is.

Natalie Faulkner’s modeling agency had landed a very lucrative contract from Thornton Cosmetics when Natalie’s sister Judith became the new “Beauty Girl”. But the new contract could easily be the ruin of Natalie’s small business when Judith has a flagrant affair with the Thornton Cosmetics’ Vice President of PR, who just happens to be Adam Thornton’s brother-in-law. Adam has worked hard to make his Company a global force in the beauty world and he’s very protective of his sister, [...]

This is another five-star by Carole Mortimer with a title i have come to fall in love,"Fantasy Girl".Adam took her silence as damning, bracing his shoulders determinedly. 'I may as well leave, then,' he murmured softly. 'Yes,' she sighed, wondering how she could bear to let him go. 'I would have been a good husband to you, Natalie,' still he delayed leaving. 'You're the only woman I've ever loved. But if I can't have you, I don't want anyone.' Adam Thornton and Natalie Faulkner were interesting [...]

I wouldn't have minded that the book was so dated. This was published the year before I was born. This book is older than me. Of course it would feel dated. The sad thing is that I hated the hero. The story was okay. The characters, not so much.

Natalie is your typical harlequin heroine. She cares about her sister, Julie, a selfish but very beautiful woman, so much. And just like Natalie, Adam is also a typical harlequin male protagonist. He has a dark past (duh!) and very untrusting towards women in general, somewhat a jerk, has a silver tongue, arrogant and a charmer, but he loves his naive little sister so much.Things got out of hand when Julie had an affair with Adam's little sister's loser husband. Then somehow Adam blamed Natalie f [...]

" I always get what I want."Adam Thornton's words struck fear into Natalie's heart. For the survival of her modeling agency depended on keeping him and his company happy. Her own sister--Thornton's Cosmetics' Dream Girl--had put her firm in jeopardy. And Adam Thornton, her irate client, was not a man to be trifled with.Ruthless in business, he was also dangerous to love, as Natalie discovered. For what he wanted most of all was Natalie--as his mistress!

It was a nice read, but not as engaging as other Carole Mortimers. I just didn't like the whole sister with hero's brother in law and how the hero blamed the heroine for starting their affair when he had wanted to wait blah blah blah. But over-all for a one-read book, it's good.
