4.5Posted in full reviewedthebook/2015 I loved the first book in Katey Lovell’s Meet Cute series and so I couldn’t wait to read the next one – The Boy at the Beach. I liked how, though similarly cute and smile-inducing, this was a whole different type of meet-cute to the first one. Lauren and Toby were meeting for the first time, but they knew each other from online, and it was so sweet! I was wondering if they would both feel different meeting in person rather than through the internet [...]

This is the second short story in Katey Lovell’s new Meet Cute series. I loved the first one because I can’t resist books or stories about bookshops (my review for that one is here). This second book was irresistible to me because it’s about two people who meet online. I met my husband on twitter many years ago so stories about couples who met online always interest me.This story is a little different from the first one in that the majority of the story is about the two characters getting [...]

After reading the first in the series (Boy in the Bookshop) I couldn't wait for this one to be published today. I treated myself to buying it in time to enjoy it while I had my afternoon cup of tea. Such a cute premise, Lauren & Toby initially meet online aided by his Mother so how will they react when they finally meet in 'real-life' a sweet, short story. Can't wait for the next one :)

Sigh. Another adorable "coffee break read". Meeting up with someone you've met online, when you're already (are you?) in love with them Super cute.

"I'm sorry I wrote you a long letter, I didn't have time to write you a short one" is a quote attributed to both Blaise Pascal and Samuel Johnson. Regardless of who said it, I get the meaning. It is HARD to be succinct and economical when writing. Katey Lovell does a marvelous job of offering up art in a tiny bite with the romantic short "The Boy at the Beach."I have read all three of her current pieces from "The Meet Cute Series," and am left wanting more with each one. That said, each one is a [...]

This is the second story in the lovely Meet Cute series - I hope you won't mind that my review covers all three!I'm really not an enthusiastic short story reader - they usually leave me wanting more - but these three stories were quite lovely. Katey has a real talent for drawing her characters in a few deft strokes - in the first, The Boy In The Bookshop, I immediately loved both Jade and Marwan, and was enchanted to watch their unfolding story. The setting was perfect - what reader doesn't love [...]

*Books provided by the author in exchange for on honest review*Meet Cute is actually the perfect title for this little series. Since the stories are relatively short I decided to put them all into one review. The are all only a few pages long and perfect for quick lunchtime read or a short train journey. I read them at home though ;)I think The Boy at the Beach is my favourite out of the three (they are all great), but I felt a very deep connection between the two characters and I loved the idea [...]

I would like to thank Katey Lovell for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. When I read the first in the series of these books I loved it that much that I couldn't wait to read this story, but I wanted to savour these short delicious reads as much as possible. In this one Katey had me dreaming of blue skies and meeting the man of my dreams on the beach (fantasy of mine since I watched Grease aged seven). I loved how they had been speaking to each other before th [...]

Again, this really appealed to me as all the books I've read lately have been lengthy. A really nice story, with nice interactions between the two and definitely made me smile though I would have enjoyed The Boy in The Bookshop that little bit more (the setting perhaps?;)) A great series and I look forward to getting to the rest of them :)

I pre-ordered these short stories as soon as I learnt about them so it's a pleasant surprise when they land on my kindle at midnight. The Boy at the Beach tells the story of the moment Lauren and Toby finally meet after having only chatted online. I couldn't help but smile, sigh and swoon my way to the end. Lovely!

Such a lovely *coffee break* read. It's written with such warmth that it captures your imagination which is exactly all Lauren and Toby had to use about each other.

I just love these short stories because each one is a full story in itself with a beginning, a middle and an end. You see things from our main character's perspective and therefore get to live out her feelings when she first spots the person she is about to meet. Sometimes she has been watching them from afar for a while, sometimes she has seen them on more than one occasion and sometimes we get to see their interaction the first time they met. This series has got variety I tell you!The great th [...]
