Not too bad for freeThis book was okay, I'm glad I didn't have to pay for it. Basically it goes through lots of cold cases that used DNA to solve them. The cases were covered in a very brief manner with no real detail at all.

Mediocre MurderAs a crime and forensic junkie I had high hopes for this book. Cold cases are one of my favorite subjects in the genre and I've read books authored by many of the notable names in forensic science. Mike Riley is not destined to be one of them. The writing is simple; I kept feeling as if I was reading a book written by a high school student instead of an adult. (My apologies if the author IS a high school student!) The chapters were disjointed and inconsistent. This reads like juve [...]

A short DIY book featuring twenty-two cold cases that were finally solved, sometimes many years later. Each case is covered VERY briefly, and I ended up reading two or three chapters before turning in each night. I wasn't crazy about the format; each chapter was preceded by a chart loaded with spoilers (listing the victim, suspect, date of crime, and date of conviction) so I finally started avoiding them.

Cold Cases Solved: True stories of MurderI chose this rating because it kept me interested in each story. I didn't want to put the book down. Each story was very interesting and odd.

These stories are short with little detail. If you like more in-depth investigations, this is not that kind of book. It was a quick, easy read. If you are looking for something that doesn't require much thinking, this is what you should read.

Very Interesting ReadingFound the stories quite fascinating, and shaking my head that it could actually take so long for some "cold cases" to be solvedat is IF it ever is solved!!! Look forward to reading more of this author's work very soon!

InterestingInteresting collection of cold cases. However, before publishing, careful proofreading should have been done. Awkward sentence structure and other errors interrupted the flow of the narrative.

    8. Gena Koehler

It wasn't bad, a short book with not a lot of depth to the cases, which may just be my personal preference.

Old, cold cases Most of these cases were in the news over the years. Thankfully, a lot of criminals are stupid, and some detectives are tenacious.
