      I still don't get Patricia Brigg's allure.Women are always special snowflakes with very specifically useful powers, but they're always the precious little objects to be coveted and protected by their mates. While they're sassy, their power is always their mates and who they associate with. I dare you to find a female character written by her who's either not a bitch or sassy happy. Like there is no middle term. All her protagonists are always a powerful someone's "mate".
