He was the last one she wantedShe was the last one he neededThat story was very sweet and easygoing It earned me from the first moment and i just couldn't stop reading!!!Meghan had many changes in her life the last couple of years Her loving father had passed away, before a half year her mother remarried with a good friend of her father and her little brother suddenly had a wife and a kid All of that were too much to handle them!!!Everyone was moving forward and she just stayed the sameSo when s [...]

Ugh. The hero has a major chip on his shoulder and is just really unpleasant. I also don't like the way the romance develops. This book is kind of strange in that it seems sexist at times, with subtle instances of slut-shaming, and yet I also felt like I was reading into things too much. Either way, it didn't sit quite well with me.

alysenovakAVAILABLE: September 28, 2014Sometimes you just have to let loose one night and get ripe roaring drunk. And that is just what Meghan Hawthorne did after returning to Savannah, Georgia after a visit home. Meghan and her roommate, Laura (also her DD, no drunk driving in this book [=) head to a new bar about 45 minutes away in Burton. On the way home, Laura experiences some sort of car trouble and a nice samaritan stops to help.Sam Reynolds is as serious as they come. Forced to manage the [...]

4 stars!****My first book by Tawdra Kandle, I didn't read any reviews so I had no idea what to expect and I was not disappointed! The beginning was a bit slower but not totally boring. Once things started happening I couldn't keep my eyes off it.Meghan is art major at university, she's got the "love them and leave them" attitude and commitement is a foreign word to her. One day she and her BFF drove to different (yet close-by) town to try out a new bar. Meg's hammered, barely coherent and their [...]

A classic story of boy meets girl, boy can't handle how much he wants to bang girl, boy acts like a jackass and treats girl like crap, girl mysteriously finds this sexy. The central plotline was a little troubling, but the truly disturbing section was the subplot with her "friend" Owen. Owen is infatuated with out heroine and truly believes that they are meant to be together forever. He's basically a stalker. The book (thank God) makes a point of how creepy and weird this is, but gets a bit judgy [...]

**You can see this full review and more at Book Briefs: bookbriefs** The Last One by Tawdra Kandle is the first book in a contemporary romance series, called the One Series. It is told in dual narrative between Sam and Meghan, and I absolutely loved it. It is technically adult contemporary romance but I think it will appeal to fans of new adult and adult romances alike. The Last One allowed me to totally tune out the world. I could not put this book down, for anything or anyone. I was so engros [...]

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I found myself thinking about it constantly while reading and even now that I have finished it, I keep thinking about it. Meghan is a art student in college and taken an opportunity with ArtCorps. It's like the Peace Corps, but they send art students to places that have cut their art programs in school in order to create summer art programs. Meghan joined this group and was picked to go to a small town only about an hour away from Savannah, Georgia (whether she at [...]

i loved this book!!!!! The inly problem i had was the beginning was a little slow to me but it picked up. im so happy with this ending and everything Sam and Meghan wen tthrough and just *sighs dreamily* im in love with it!!and im super excited to read The First One!!

    9. Cheryl

Wow. Talk about romance with an edge. From the beginning the characters were so real that I was completely invested in them. The sexual tension woven into the story added so much value to the relationships. I will be reading this book many times just so I can spend more time with Meghan and Sam.

    10. Denise Smithson

Loved it!I love a book that can make you laugh and cry at the same time. I am so happy my friends suggested this book and I'm going to pick up the next book in the series.

    11. books are love

this is my first book of Tawdra Kandle's to read and it most certainly will not be my last. I fell in love immediately. The characters were real and flawed. They loved passionately and were also conflicted. The concept draws you in and keeps you reading. Here we have two people really at crossroads in their life. Sam is mired with responsibility and feeling as if the whole world rests on his shoulders and Meghan is feeling lost. She is trying to find her destiny. Where does she belong? where doe [...]

    12. Twin Sisters Rockin' Book Reviews

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆Life is constantly moving and changing and the one thing you can count on is that nothing stays the same. This is the story of two people that meet at a changing point in their lives. Decisions will be made to either face those changes head on or stay in that comfortable zone and remain stagnant allowing life to pass by unchallenged. Sam had pulled over to help the stranded woman on the side of the deserted country road when he realized she was not al [...]

    13. Cristina (My Tiny Obsessions)

Read Full Review HEREHello, welcome back to another book review!!! I find that I’m really into the New Adult genre since the last month, and this books is yet another one that I got approved for through Netgalley.I had a few problems with the writing at the beginning of the book, unfortunately. I found it really descriptive, way more than needed be, and it took me a while to get really into it. Once I got used to the type of narration, the book flowed well and fast. Heck, I finished in under 2 [...]

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As an almost strictly paranormal romance reader, it takes a certain type of author to convince me to dive into straight romance. Tawdra Kandle is one of the few authors I will make an exception for. Her writing style is so easy and relaxing that I have to really keep an eye on the time or I’ll stay up all night to finish one of her books. This one was no different, with pages upon pages flowing by without me even noticing. I love [...]

    15. Samantha

Attraction and passion don't wait for the "perfect" time. The Last One shows that people walk into your life for a reason and sometimes it takes a little longer to figure out what that reason is exactly. Meghan and Sam both are in need of one another and don't even realize it until they are so tangled up in one another that happiness doesn't exist without the other. I give this read a sweet and charming 4 stars. Meghan goes through guys like water because she can't help but date a lot. She likes [...]

The Last One by Tawdra Kandle is a sweet romance about an art student teaching for the summer in a small Georgia community and falling for the farmer whose home she is lodging while teaching. This book exists in the same world as The Posse and is about Meghan Hawthorne, Jude's daughter. Still healing from the loss of her father her relationships with men have been non-existant. She dates briefly and moves on forming no emotional ties. When her and her friend are rescued one night from a bar far o [...]

Check out more of my reviews on my blog gemmareadstoomuchThe last one is book #1 in The One series and the first book I have read by this author. I was gifted a copy of the book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.I love a good cheesy romance and that’s what this book is, good old fashioned romance.Megan is a nice girl, she’s straight forward and at times a little jaded, but overall she’s a nice relatable character.God Sam for the first half of the book I honestly just wanted to punch him!!!! [...]

    18. Courtney

I enjoyed reading The Last One. Tawdra Kandle's writing is sarcastic and crude at times, but I think that's what I found amusing about it. The story allowed for the fairytale-like workings of fate to come into play without making the love affair seem unrealistic. I adored Sam's character; a rough-around-the-edges country boy with a big heart. It took Meghan a little while to grow on me, but she eventually did. Despite the obvious chemistry between them, it was really entertaining to see Sam try [...]

    19. Tonya

3.5 Cute Couple StarsI received an ARC of The Last One in exchange for my honest review. All opinions shared are 100% my own.Meghan is starting her senior year of college and trying to figure out "what she wants to be when she grows up". All around her things are changing, everyone has they're lives planned and mapped out and she's struggling to find where she belongs. Sam, through sad circumstances, has his life mapped out, living a solid, staid life and a young, college girl is definitely not [...]

    20. Amanda

This book should come with a warning that you should have tissues and a fan handy! Meghan and Sam's story made me laugh, cry, and fan my face from all the heat between these two characterws.Meghan is a sweet girl with a fiery passion. She takes her new summer job very seriously, and she takes getting to know Sam on a deeper level even more serious. I enjoyed Sam's stubbornness in the beginning. It was able to let us dig deeper into him as a character and really learn why he acted the way he did [...]

These four stars aren't just plain stars - they are bright and sparkling. I won't deny it, this novel does start out rather slow but it quickly picks up its pace. And as soon as it does you won't be able to put this read down. Addictive - that's what I'd call it. Addictive, cute, adorable and pretty cheesy - but cheesy in its very best way. There isn't much to say about the characters, the plot or the writing style. The characters seemed very alive, I loved both Meghan and Sam as narrators and I [...]

    22. Heather Stanley

This is the first Tawdra Kandle book I have ever read and now I'm hooked!!!"As she begins her final summer of college, Meghan's looking for excitement and maybe a little romance. Nothing serious; this girl just wants to have fun.But the only man for Meghan turns out to be the last one she expects."This was Not what I expected at all, I read a lot of romance type books and this was far better!! I love the writing, I felt so connected to everyone, they became so real like I was right there with th [...]

    23. Td

The Last One by Tawdra Kandle5 stars!I couldn't put this down! Meghan's fiery temper and Sam's jaw clenching mask of self control make for a combustible story that is both sweet and smoking hot! I fell in love with all the characters easily, and enjoyed that this wasn't a simple love story where they meet, there is chemistry and they just go for it. Instead they struggled with their own inner dialogue and demons, and came out fighting anytime they couldn't trust their own instincts.I could easil [...]

    24. Roz Balidio

I was 10% in the story when I know I'm gonna be hooked. Sam's entrance is very natural. It's real life based. You know how people meet, they don't instantly feel the sparks fly. Just a feeling that remains after the initial meeting. Then you'll shrug it off coz you're never gonna see each other. That's how it really goes.

    25. Season

So darn cute. The characters seemed to flow right into the story and it made the reading even better. Very thought out and the plot flowed really well. Sam was a great man, maybe not quite the manly man, but a nice, small town guy!

    26. Kimberly Marie

So this is another not-so-serious NA. If you read NA then you would know that most of them come with a difficult topic like rape or abuse. This did not have it! Which I'm glad for. It was nice to take a step away from those hard topics and read something light. Though, there was one scene in the beginning where Meghan's ex threatened to rape her but I think Meghan handled it nicely. And it was never brought up again.I enjoyed getting to meet Meghan. She was a fun character to read. Though there [...]
