I had a hard time getting into this book and a lot of that had to do with the main character Carly I think. I found myself wanting to smack her on more than one occasion and tell her to grow up already. She's that annoying but as the story progressed she grew on me somewhat. She still has a ways to go before I don't dislike her and want to hit her but I am interested in her story.Nick on the other hand I found to be completely captivating. He is what managed to draw me into the story and I'm gla [...]

Don't know what to think of this first opus of Maria Mc Cartan story. There are some pleasant and fun parts as well as some ones that made me grind my teethI've been rolling my eyes at Nick sexual prowess in bed. Of course, he is exceptional! But, in one particular scene, I've almost spilled my coffee on my screen… Gross! Then I realize it was following the vampire road…Jeez! A warning would have been niceI've been sighing a lot too. Carly needy affective behavior is a little bit too extreme [...]

2.5 StarsI really wanted to love this book but just couldn't get captivated. Carly is a depressed 36 year old living with her father stalking her ex, an ex of five years. She is socially awkward, has anxiety, and has bad habits, smoking & spending money collecting Disney memorabilia. She goes to see Nick for hypnotherapy to quit smoking he seems to have put this spell on her. They have this connection that sends them on this quickly paced world wind of a relationship until Carly finally find [...]

I just finished Little Dark Pieces by Maria McCartan - this is this first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I felt the heroine Carly and hero Nick were written very thoughtfully plus they had plenty of likability. Carly is a character who definitely draws the reader in and I wanted her to have a better life; she did deserve one. Meeting Nick was so fun to read - he really knocked her off her feet. The aura of his attraction made me think that there would be a paranorm [...]

EhhhI can honestly say I like how the story was going Nick was mystery and sexy and you couldn't help but want to know his secrets. I'm not a big fan of Carly I mean I got that she was awkward and didn't really fit in I understood that. For me personally it went downhill after they had sex, I mean Carly turn into a stalker (which lets be honest you met him twice) and both her and Nick realizes they love each other?? From then on everything that happened was predictable, and I was disappointed. W [...]

Maria McCartan’s “Little Dark Pieces” is a risqué read. There’s some taboo sex stuff, which I enjoyed. Not sure why more vampire stories don’t include period sex! Nick, the leading fanger, is pretty hot. Carly, the leading lady, seems a little annoying at times – a bit “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days,” if you know what I mean. The ending is a cliffhanger, and dang it I wanted to know how Carly and Nick ended up!4 out of 5 stars

When I pick up this book, I didn't read it review nor looked at its genre, I simply pick this because of its cover.I don't know what makes me read this until the end, maybe it was Nick already put a spell on me. One scene in particular make me cringe, but deep inside I can't magine that happening to me. When Carly starting to suspect Nick of being a vampire, I wish this book didn't come to end. Looking forward to its sequel.

It took me a little while to stop rolling my eyes at some of the sappy things Carly and Nick would say to each other but I did finally start to really enjoy the book. If you can get over the sappiness of the things they say it was really good. And I completely loved the last few chapters. I will of course continue with the series.

A little weird this book. It had a lot if potential but Carly's internal monologue gotOn my nerves! They moved too quickly but the bedroom scenes were sensuous and made up for the lightning speed courtship! Also too short

Great bookI rated this a five because it contained the things I really like in a booka vampire, a little mystery and some very sensual scenes. It was one of those books I didn't put down until I finished. Ill definitely be reading more of Ms McCarran's works.

    12. Annette McMillan

it was very interesting and I thought wow what a cute love story than their were some spots I was like gross why would anyone do such a thing. the ending totally shocked me and then made a whole lot of sense. it is a must read!!!

    13. Emily

4 stars because it wasn't a bad book. It was written well for the most part, and I enjoyed most of it. However, some of the sex scenes were a bitoss. it was a little much for mempire or not.

    14. Kristy Sommerville

Great bookcouldn't put the book down, read it in 2 days. can't wait for the next one. The bad thing is it leaves a cliffhanger.

    15. Coribooks

Did not rate this book at all. Female lead was a nightmare and just didn't connect. Horrible description of being licked when she had her period. Yuck!

    16. Peggy

~ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW~Fast paced journey ride of emotions! Bit of a cliffhanger at the but a good read overall! If you haven't read it yet, don't wait too long to get started!

    17. Michelle

I liked the story, I have to say I was shocked by the ending, I did not see that one coming!!! I'm looking forward to the next book!!!
