Rebiew written 15 June, 2017 3.3 Stars - A good third!Book #3 in the Cherringham cozy crime solves serial. See my review for the first three-part audiobooks box, Cherringham #1-3: A Cosy Crime Series Compilation. — 2:30 hours narrated by Neil Dudgeon. Most creepy of these three novella length stories. I truly like Jack and Sarah by know. — Looking forward to more. I LIKE - zy small towns mysteries

Another adventure for Jack and Sarah and I have to say these get better and better – mainly I think because the more I read, the more I come to love the characters. Extremely well drawn and feeling more and more like real people as we go, I can easily imagine them in the Cherringham setting, chasing down clues and discovering hidden secrets. This time murder by cake it seems, which certainly appealed to me!Each new instalment brings us a lovely little mystery to solve and develops the setting [...]

In this one, Jack and Sarah help solve the mysterious death of a choir member and Jack goes undercover in the choir to sort out the various suspects. Sarah with the help of a few people in the choir discovers a list of suspects and with Jack’s help they manage to narrow it down. It had unexpected surprises and it was a really good read with very likeable characters if a little quirky. Pick up a copy you just may enjoy it.

I've read all three of these so far--this is the third of twelve installments in this 'cozy' series. But don't imagine little old ladies and crocheted antimacassars -- the crime-busting duo here are a computer-savvy graphic artist, who retreated back home to this small English village when her husband absconded with his beautiful boss (so she's also a newly-single mother of two) and a New York police detective, who retired to this 'quiet' English village after the death of his beloved wife. They [...]

This series reminds me of a PBS British murder mystery mini-series. It's going to be my guilty pleasure in 2018.

    6. Karen

A young woman is hurrying home from choir practice one winter's night when she realizes that she's having a serious reaction to something she doesn't understand it since everyone knows that she's allergic to peanuts so none of the baked goods after choir practice should have affected her. She opens her purse for her Epi-pen and finds only one when there should be two, but one is enough until she tries to inject herself and finds the pen is empty. In utter panic, Kirsty tries to hurry to her cott [...]

Short stories are hard, but when two talented authors come together, the lines are tight and the mystery moves along without the usual plumping up of unnecessary character traits or overly descriptive surroundings. Ex-NYPD detective Jack Brennan and web designer Sarah Edwards, team up again to answer the question of who killed Kristy Kimball. Known by everyone around her that she is deathly allergic to peanuts and carries multiple epi-pens how did she manage to die from anaphylaxis on the side o [...]

    8. Sara

The mystery here is a good one--death by allergic reaction to peanuts--and handled with Jack and Sarah's usual aplomb.

Quick and easy read. Not too much to think about and not a big fuss. Sometimes those Cherringham-Mysteries are a bit too short for my liking.

I am so happy I saw these books on audible and even more happy that I bought almost all of them!! I love the characters and to me the narrator Neil Dudgeon is fantastic, he brings the characters to life. I love being in the village of Cherringham.

This series must be read in order. The first book is Cherringham - Murder on Thames: A Cosy Crime Series (Cherringham (English)). The second book is Cherringham - Mystery at the Manor: A Cosy Crime Series (Cherringham (English)). This is the third book.Jack misses his family but is settling in quite nice in the small English village of Cherringham. He even has a surrogate family with Sarah and her two kids. He feels at home even if things are not always quite what they seem But that just keeps t [...]

A great little trio of mini-mysteries set in the village of Cherringham, in the Cotswalds area of the UK. All three feature the detective work of web designer Sarah Edwards and retired NYPD Detective Jack Brennan. The relationship is one of mutual trust and respect, but no overt evidence of it being romantic. They fall into a mystery and discover that they both enjoy the detection process, and continue solving mysteries together. These stories are wonderful, and do not feel that they have been s [...]

Here we are again in the small town of Cherringham meeting up with Jack and Sarah, this time getting involved in the mysterious murder of gift shop owner Kirsty in the midst of preparations for the annual Christmas concert. Everyone at the choir knew of her allergy but who would want her dead, and now everyone of them was a suspect as Jack goes undercover and joins their number.Between Sarah's flirty conversations with one of the suspects, Jack's no-nonsense approach with another, they begin to [...]

    14. Steve

This is the third book in the twelve book series. A few things are happening here. This series is really hitting it's stride. Also, Cherringham is sounding more and more like a terrible place to live. Murder, mayhem, and secrets lurk in every cottage. This village has issues and Jack and Sarah are just the duo to root it out. More than just writing an excellent story, these two gentlemen have proven that they are also amazing magicians. There can be no other explanation on how you can pack this [...]
