I'm not sure how to rate this book. It's at it's best when the author is following the financial and political plot lines, but falls down as a romance. Maybe it's just me, but I don't have much tolerance for the type of romance that involves heavy petting, but makes a big deal out of the heroine being a "technical virgin". The couple are supposed to be 35 and 40, but their romantic scenes sound like a thirteen-year-old's "secret imaginative journal." The non-romance story is excellent and hits h [...]

This book cracked me up and I couldn't put it down, but I also know the author. :) What I loved about it was that it illustrated the link between the professional and ridiculously romantic sides of women. The story about the political and financial intrigue, coupled with the immaturity when it comes to romance, had me laughing through the whole thing. Could SO relate to that feeling, and I knew many women when I lived in Washington, DC that could speak from a stage with poise and confidence, but [...]

This book was such a surprise for me! I had the opportunity to review it and so I took it, but because it was a political fiction - I didn't expect to love it as much as I truly did! Personally, politics have never been my thing - I leave that for my husband. But this book drew me in with its characters, plot, and moral values. I loved the strong, modern woman that Haley is and enjoyed the special looks into her character, her personality and into her thoughts. She just felt like a "real" woman [...]

Good, fun mind candy! I found the book to be thoroughly enjoyable - the romance was sweet (and the make outs were not graphic) and the political/financial plot interesting. I'll certainly read more if/when other "Haley" books come along (as suggested by the author).

I knew this author when she was a teenager. Now she's a smart, politically active, financially savvy, single, blogger nearing the age of 40, just like her main character who wants to remain a virgin until she marries. mcbridemarketing.wix/erin- Right now the character is in a long distance relationship which should make the virginity issue easier, but every time they get together there are way too many paragraphs about making out. I want to know whether the relationship ends in marriage in #2 or [...]

This is a really fun, energetic story about an unlikely relationship between a girl financial blogger and a news anchorman. Infused into it all is how technology affects and can dictate our lives. I found this fascinating. At the core, of course, is the romance that blossoms during a political scandal. Needless to say, there is a lot of action and attraction in this book. And I think there are two more. I think her summary mentioned something about pirates. Sounds like fun summer reading to me:) [...]

Clean, fun easy reading. However, the romance seemed somewhat "Sweet Valley High-ish" with a cliché storyline. Characters lacked depth. Basically, it could be boiled down to "cute, smart, goody-two-shoes girl impresses hot, popular boy." The political plot seemed one-sided and predictable. Also, I didn't understand why the main character wasn't LDS. I don't really know any 30-something single women in my life who won't go past kissing and don't drink alcohol that aren't LDS. Just saying that Ha [...]

I'm always a sucker for a Romantic Comedy. In book form, it's even better!! I love that Haley can be strong and insecure at the same time. It's so tempting to put myself in her "place" and imagine I'm having her amazing adventures in life, political scandal, and, of course, love. I guess that's what makes this book so hard to put down, and equally enjoyable the second time through.

Fun, clever and interesting. Not my usual genre so I was worried all the politics and such might go over my head at times, but it didn't. Romance that was kept clean but also steamy. Really, it was.

I didn't like this book at all. I received this book from First Reads Giveaway and I would like to thank them for that, but it just wasn't my thing. The love story side was juvenile and the political side was boring.
