I loved this book! If you are a woman who has ever wondered if you are doing enough, you need to read this. It is not just for mothers either, any mother, sister, grandmother, daughter, dranddaughter, aunt, or woman, you will find joy and inspiration in this book.

What a great reminder this book is, that motherhood is full of small and simple offerings that make the biggest influence to our families. I love these quotes"People will forget what you saidbut people will never forget how you made them feel.""Feel the fear and do it anyway!""No mother gives her all-all of the time. It's simply not in any way possible. But like the widow of old, if we merely give what we have--humble though it may be--we will find great peace in feeling we have offered well.""J [...]

Last weekend I attended Ladie's Night at our local Deseret Book and this beautiful charismatic author took my children under her wing feeding them oreos. Then she went step further, requesting a picture and giving me a copy of her book for review. DeAnne Flynn is so incredibly nice! Her book The Mother's Mite is one I think all mothers should read. Each chapter is a story emphasizing a tiny life lesson learned from a mom. And together all of the accounts add up to remind us what a vital role we [...]

I absolutely love this book. I have read through it twice and have found myself laughing out loud and crying all the way through it. It was so affirming to women without being condescending in ANY way. Deanne Flynn gives us permission to look a little deeper into what matters the most to us as mothers. Some of her stories are hysterical, and I'm relieved to know that other moms have deal with chaos, sadness, feelings of inadequacy and joy in their callings as mothers. This book made me deeply re- [...]

DeAnne Flynn captures the magic of small moments in motherhood--whether mothering your own children or those around you. She shares "offerings" that we as mothers give, or can give, to our children and others that will help to shape the lives around us while providing the necessary knowledge of a mother's love. Being a mom is not easy work, and often we feel that what we give is not enough, but Flynn implores that it IS enough. This is a beautiful, inspired book that will leave moms of all types [...]

The Mother’s Mite is an inspirational book for any woman who has a mothering instinct. A compilation of beautifully articulated stories that illustrate the giving nature of women, each story shows it is not the monumental moments in life that teach the best, but small moments that are filled with love and acceptance. Each narrative paints a beautiful example of virtues such as trust, empathy, and thoughtfulness. Other traits worthy of emulation are definitely portrayed by loving mothers and gr [...]

I guess I was expecting this book to be more motivational for the dark days of mothering in the trenches, but it's more like Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul. Each vignette was written in a way that made me think of sunshine and rainbows but wasn't necessarily relatable. Some of the "mites" didn't seem small at all and left me feeling like I am not doing enough. There were a few stories that I really liked though and would like to adopt the traditions for my own family. Overall, a sweet, quick [...]

This book was perfect for me to read at this time in my life. It is a book that I will go back to and read over from time to time. It talks about how as mother's sometimes we feel like we aren't accomplishing much, but we never know when even the smallest efforts will stick with our children and be special to them. I have tons of fond memories of doing things with my mother, and I know that I can provide that same gift to my kids. Some of the things written in this book felt like they were writt [...]

I loved the book and recommend it as a Mother's Day gift to every Mother on your list. Sometimes we mother's think our everyday offerings go unnoticed by those we serve. DeAnne's beautiful gift book reminds us that we are vitally important in the lives of our children and grandchildren every day even if we are only doing those little things that seem unimportant at the time. It is well written, insightful, warm and wonderful. I especially loved her caution about caving in to the "post-dramatic y [...]

A sweet reminder that even the little things matter a great deal when it comes to mothering. This book is a collection of peoples short stories of how a woman in thier life affected them. You don't have to be a mother to affect the life of a child. I am grateful that I do have children, but I have many friends and loved ones who have not yet been blessed, sadly. This book pointed out, for me, the awesome impact women have in the world. Has some yummy looking recipes to boot. This book was differ [...]

What a fabulous tribute to mother's. I enjoyed the layout and simplicity of the book because as a busy mom myself I barely have time to take a shower let alone read a long book. Not only did it make me appreciate my mother it helped me to realize the importance of the small acts and the everyday acts that we as mother's give. I am looking forward to giving this book to my mother for Mother's Day. I cannot think of a better way to show my love to her and celebrate motherhood.

What a wonderful way of being reminded how the little things really do matter. All the day to day tasks that we think may go unnoticed or unappreciated, yet all the while mean the world to our children. This has strengthen my resolve on the kind of mother I want and strive to me. As well, as, encourages me to continue to do those things that may not be very important to the world but are the world to my important children. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Amongst the hectic times, I kept this book in my purse to read when I had a down moment. It had such great stories of other women using their ingenuity to do simple and memorable things for the loved ones in their lives. Who doesn't need those little reminders that our daily efforts do make a difference!

A cute collection of ideas for mothers and grandmothers. There are a few recipes as well- the cinnamon swirl bread is one I will be trying.I noticed that someone else mentioned that they liked the idea about the "bells". Bells always remind me of my Mom she used to collect bells and I think of her when I see one.

This book is a collection of stories about how different mothers have done small things that have made a big difference in their kids' lives. It's motivating and full of good ideas and inspiration. I really enjoying and may buy it to be able to read a chapter or two here and there. I just think it's fascinating to see how many solutions there are to approaching a mother's goals.

This book is amazing! I have already read DeAnne Flynn's first book "The Time-Starved Family: Helping Overloaded Families Focus on What Matters Most" and I loved it. But, I love this book EVEN MORE!! It is an amazing mix of childhood memories and hope & encouragement for the future. It's fun to read and it's inspirational. You'll LOVE it! -Sally

    18. Alisa

Simple book to read about fun little "mites" you can leave your children. There are little stories and snippets of how mothers can leave these ideas to their children, like love, honesty, passion, etc.

    19. Katie

I've been reading this a little bit each day and just finished it. I really liked the encouraging stories. One of my favorite thoughts, "there's no perfect mom, but a lot of ways to be good mom." This book has stories about different ways to be a "good mom."

    20. Tenille

Great Book! I would recommend this to any mothers. Easy to read, short stories of ways to show your children you love them, to teach them something important, and most importantly to show us mothers that the little things we do everyday ARE important. Loved this book!!

    21. Melissa

Fun, inspiring read, but didn't give a whole lot of application, which is what I was hoping for. Glad I didn't buy it, but it inspired me to enjoy my days as a mother and doing mother things and to live in the moment and make every day count.

    22. Jeanette

I devoured this happy, sincere, book. Whatever stage of life or mothering you are in, this will bring happiness to your soul. I keep it in my family room and everyone picks it up and reads an "offering" every now and then. What an inspiration to keep doing the small things!! I love it!

    23. Vanessa

Simple little read, with lots of good ideas.I just like hearing what other people do.I also tried the cinnamon bread recipe (doubled) and both loaves were gone by the end of the day.

    24. Staci

    26. Kristen

Some sweet stories about all the little things that mom's do that build kids character. I liked the story about the bells the best. Some recipes included that I want to try (cinnamon bread!)
